Q. What are your hours?
A. Service is by appointment only. We can often accommodate your schedule (evenings and sometimes weekends).
Q. Do you sell computers, software, or parts?
A. Other than some laptop power adapters and batteries, generally no.
Q. Is there anything you don’t fix?
A. We do not repair / replace LCD screens, iPods or iPhones. We have partnered with TechRestore, who repair these items by mail, affordably and reliably.
Q. What’s the best way contact us?
A. Emails generally get a faster response. But feel free to call if that’s the best way to explain your situation. Consultants are usually multi-tasking. We can email you back while traveling or working on other things, whereas phone calls may have to wait.
Q. For repairs/quotes, what do you need to know about my computer?
A. The processor speed and operating system. Under the Apple Menu, choose About This Mac. For iMacs/laptops, we’ll also need to know the screen size (measured diagonally).
Q. I’m on a budget. Is there any way I can save money?
A. Set up an appointment to bring the computer to us. We’re ½ a block from the F Train at 7th Avenue in Brooklyn, 25 minutes from West 4th Street.
Q. I have a Mac emergency! My hard drive isn’t being recognized, or I just deleted an important file!
A. Before doing anything else, shut off the computer, or if the issue is an external hard drive, unplug it. There is often a small window where inexpensive data recovery is possible.
Q. Do you perform warranty repairs?
A. Sorry, not for free. Please note that repairs sent to Apple will require any important data to be backed up. We can help you with that.
Q. My computer has my life on it – what’s the turnaround time?
A. We offer some of the best turnaround times in the city. Rush service at extra charge may be available depending on the situation.
